SimLab Parent Interview
Situation - The interview was with a concerened parent about his son Ethan. Ethan's math results have shown that he was struggling and not getting good grades, So his father came in for an interview for an explination about his son's grade and asking questions about why he waan't doing so well when he had previously done well in maths.
Action - Throughout the interview I had introduced myself as Ethan's teacher and addressed his concerns. I had reassured him that we are trying to point out what is making Ethan's math grade lower than normal. I had given him options as to what it may be, whether it was behaviour issues, the group he's sitting with or the workload being to difficult which may result in lowering his confidence. I mentioned that a plan in action would be discussed and created to help Ethan boost his condifence and get on the right path, with invovling the father and keeping him in the loop through email or phone.
Observation - Reassurance was given to the father and that any observation and improvement of Ethan, the father will be contacted and any information will be given about Ethan.
