Reflection
When you become a teacher the learning of different skills does not stop there. As teachers we must meet the requirements and skill of the ever-changing society we live in today. I believe that as a teacher you should always add or further your learning by engaging in any professional learning that will improve your teaching in the classroom and the professional side of teaching.
Professional Learning
I was lucky enough to attend both professional development days in term one and two which was organised by the school.
When I attended the PD days in term 1, where a variety of topics were covered such as the school’s business plan, the different committee groups and many more. In term 2 it was more an overview of what was happening in term two and the rest of the day consisted of classroom arrangements and planning. There were some online components that my mentor teacher had to complete a refresher on asthma and anaphylaxis, which I didn’t get to see but I would have liked to just to see what it consisted of.
In term one when I attended the PD day I wasn’t sure what to expect going into it, I had prepared myself by having a pad to write any notes that I found relevant and that could help with my teaching in my final practicum. In this PD there was some presentations from different committee groups within the teaching staff, they had cooperative and creative thinking committee, literacy committee and ICT committee. Each committee presented some information that regarded their committee and how teachers could implement in into their teaching. I found this very interesting as it gave me a lot of information about what the school focus is. Learning about this has really given me an insight into how a school is developed and forever learning and expanding.

6.1 Demonstrate an understanding of the role of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers in identifying professional learning needs.
When creating and designing my e-portfolio I've become to understand the Australian Professional Learning Standards for Teaching. I've become familiar and have learnt more about them in depth and detail. I have been able to reflect on my performance as a teacher and identify the areas I have done well in. I know that the process is ongoing and intend to improve, lean and develop more of these standards throughout my teaching.

6.3 Seek and apply constructive feedback from supervisors and teachers to improve teaching practices.
Throughout my FPE I've had plenty of constructive feedback from my mentor teachers and other teachers who came into the classroom to watch my lessons I taught. With the feedback and recommendations I get, I have always try my best to implement them into my classroom. When I do so, I feel that I've improved form the previous lesson. Having experienced teachers in the classroom or them to come watch my lesson was helpful and fantastic as I had professional knowledge and feedback right away. Whenever I doubted my performance or needed feedback on a lesson plan I was able to have a discussion with my mentor and/or other teachers before and after.
